Mission Statement
"To Enhance the Quality of GIS Students."
The intention of our club is act as a support network for Geospatial Information students at UTD and to promote GIS awareness and knowledge within the University and the general community.
The GISSO Student Organization is dedicated to the promotion of scientific knowledge in the various disciplines of geography and remote sensing including but not limited to: mapping, spatial information management, and the related sciences. This organization fosters understanding of GIS and mutual exchange of knowledge and ideas among its members and with anyone with related interests. Affiliation with and networking within the GIS program at UT Dallas is the definition of GISSO membership.
